Coach of the year? I think otherwise. This year has been great in terms of the recent history of the University of Maryland's football. But let's not fool ourselves here. The University of Maryland's football team is still extremely mediocre. While competing for a spot in the ACC championship(an extremely average league football wise) is admirable, this is still not the level of play this university is capable of. While not solely to blame, Ralph Friedgen, through a mixture of bad recruiting, terrible playcalling, and bad hires, Friedgen has managed to make this University's football team a laughingstock.

Interesting, very strongly-worded topic and highly relevant for the class. Make sure that it isn't just an attack on the coach but that you offer solutions to what WE can do to improve the reputation and image of our own football team despite the current coaching situation.
ReplyDeleteI really like this topic because of its relevance to the university and because he has been on the hot seat for a really long time. Its also very interesting how many factors there are in letting him go, including buying out his contract and the fact that Franklin is the coach in waiting. I am interested to see what direction you take.
