A.) Slang
B.) Inarticulates
C.) Doublespeak
D.) Distorted language
Me thinking I was so right and had this question locked down, I chose answer D (distorted language). When I looked back and reflected on it, I felt extremely dumb, because the obvious answer is answer B ( Inarticulates). Inarticulates are words such as "um", "like", and "uh". We use these inarticulates mostly when we are publicly speaking because we are out of our comfort zone. For an example, I have Ellis Lanksder's post game interview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWQKwik2vjQ&feature=related
I fell in the same trap. Easy questions that you "know" is this and just blow right through them without really looking hard enough at what its asking. I know for the final I'll be reading these tricky questions more carefully.
